Question The Mind, is Mona Grayson’s site. Mona helps people change the beliefs that are causing stress in their lives. Using ‘The Work” of Byron Katie as a foundation, she, and her partner Giovanni, have had great success in helping people live a richer, fuller, more vibrant – and authentic life.
Mona’s business was already quite successful. Her website gave her a solid business foundation, which was quite effective in growing her business (then called Let’s Do The Work). She has a large offering of products of services; from one-on-one facilitation to teleclasses to audio products and eBooks. On top of everything else, she ranked fairly high in Google for a select few keywords.
Mostly, Mona wanted her site to have a richer, more elegant look. She wanted to have some curved design elements and yet still wanted her message to be grounded. Mona has a lot of offerings on her site and so it was important that everything be easy to find. And, there was more coming, so her site had to expand as she expanded.
The result was a stunning visual design that really changed the overall feel of her business. We created a simple, top navigation system that fit all her needs and made finding things very easy for her visitors. And the site is ready for her to expand her business as she continues development.
One unexpected result was in search engine rankings. Within six weeks of the redesign, Mona found her rankings increased dramatically – in some cases to the #2 position in Google right behind Byron Katie herself. Because her content didn’t change, we can fully attribute this to utilizing a very ‘light-weight’ coding method utilizing modern web standards (Not important that you know what that means, just that I use web standards in my coding methods). That goes to show that search engine optimization can be just as much about how you code your website as to what keywords you focus on.
