Yes, you get to chose your own hours and work around family responsibility but you do not have all the benefits you would get with a company. Keeping clients is the key and if you have the resources then you will be fine. Without the resources however, the chances are you will not last the duration. Definitely a career move which needs extreme careful thinking and planning along with much drive and determination. Being self employed is extremely difficult.
