SOBCon08: Recap - Live Blogging and Reports From The Event

written on 11 May, 2008 by Dawud Miracle

Most of us at SOBCon08 are bloggers, right? So you had to know that we blogged the event. Now I say we collectively as I was too busy jotting notes to live blog and too engrossed in conversation to blog at the event.

So what about the evenings…well, if I was getting to bed before 2am, perhaps. But I wasn’t.

Yet plenty of people either wrote reports from SOBCon08 or were live blogging as it happened. We even had a Twitter feed going at one point. The conversation behind the event didn’t stop - even during it.

So if you missed something or lost your notes at least you can find what you need from the vast resources below.

And if you couldn’t make it to SOBCon08 this year, you’ll find a great list of content that was written during the event. Having gone through all of these posts, photos and videos, there’s enough content here to make it feel like you were there - just without the smiles, hugs and handshakes.

So, if you were there, what was the biggest (I know it’s hard to find only one) highlight of your weekend. Doesn’t have to be something Brian or the Chris(es) said. Could be a meal, a conversation or a relationship.

So I’ll tell you mine if you tell me yours…in the comment box.

Holy cow! Thanks for aggregating all these posts, Dawud. My first blogger event, so lots of things stood out, but meeting Joanna Young and Bob Hruzek was a thrill.

Dawud, Thanks for such a great resource all in one place! And for the link to the podcast as well.
    My favorite moments:
Meeting you and Adam Kayce whom I’ve interviewed on my radio podcasts.
Meeting Brian Clark, Chris Garrett, Liz Strauss and Wendy Piersall and not being intimidated because they are down to earth real people.
Meeting Stephen Hopson and Corrine Edwards who are my blog buddies.
The Copyblogger joke from Christine Kane
Feeling for the first time that I’d found my tribe (thanks Simone for the line).
Confirming that I already know a lot, and learning so much more.
Remembering that it is about people, not ’sites’ or ‘blogs’. (I wrote a book on that subject you’d think I’d get it, but I still need reminders - we make relationships with people not with companies).
So much. Still processing.Thank you. I’m going now to Stumble/Twitter/Digg this post.

Thanks for the link and the round up! Very impressive. My own “recap” has turned into a series of action steps and implementations.

My high point was Saturday’s dinner with Michael Martine, Kristen King, Vicky H and Derek Semmler. Great conversation and immediately useful tips.

Thanks for the link and gathering these all together. Lots of great content out there.

Mind if I steal this round up?

Thanks for the links but the best one to show the summary of the multiple live blogging posts I did can be found here.

I still have my “take aways” in the works, things have been busy since I returned.

This rocks! I’ll be here for days…I can’t wait to begin to learn more about this. I hope that I’ll feel bloggin is my “tribe” as Michelle mentioned. I’d love to hear more about that soon.

Thank you for a GREAT round-up, Dawud. My head has been spinning trying to keep track of all of the great posts about the conference. :)

Good to have all the coverage in one place - thanks Dawud!
    Biggest highlight of the weekend?
Tough question, so I’ll say people: specifically one on one conversations and view: Chicago skyline from the upper deck. Thanks for the links - posted notes from Wendy’s presentation today - David Bullock’s tomorrow.
